Introduction

As I was began to read Song of Solomon, I was stopped immediately by these verses.  God gives the entire instruction of how to get to know Him in the first 4 verses of Chapter 3. Finding God for myself was an experience I had just gone through in my own life and these scripture verses explained everything so perfectly. I believe this message is HUGE and the steps laid out so simple.

Please take the time to read and really try to understand what you are missing in your own life. What step are you stuck on? The old saying, “When the student is ready, the master will appear” holds true in scripture as well. One reason you can not hear God is because you are not listening properly. You have not learned how to listen. Once you learn how to advance to the next step, God will show you the next step. It is a lot like the levels of love. There is love of a pet, or a co-worker, or a friend, or best friend, cousin, grandma, brother or sister, mom or dad, and of God. Each level is a different love.  Even the love you had better two different soulmates or girl/boyfriends is different.  There are different levels of love, and if you have not experienced a specific level higher than you know than how could you possibly know what that higher level feels like, or what you should with it? God knows our heart, and will show us his message according to our own specific needs. I hope you find enjoyment, encouragement, and joy from My Father’s Message today.

Step 1, Recognizing Our Need for God

Child, Remember those moments on your knees, seeking God's presence, asking for clear signs and instant answers? It's like that time when you earnestly sought God to reveal Himself. You looked for signs, desperately wanting that undeniable confirmation. But here's the real deal—God is already communicating with us, just not always in the ways we expect. Sometimes, the messages we get from our Father do not align with what we want. The big question is, do we pay attention, or do we let those messages slip away? Are we obedient, hungry for more knowledge?

In times of deep need, it can feel like God is playing hide and seek. We cry out for help, but the heavens don't always respond immediately. For those without faith, this might seem like the moment to throw in the towel. "See," they say, "God isn't real. If He were just, He'd answer my prayers or save the needy." This is where faith kicks in. It's about sticking with prayer, knowing that God hears us—always has and always will. His divine plan keeps unfolding. The real question is, are we making it easy or difficult for His plan to unfold in our lives?

Let us follow the timeless command in the Bible to pray without ceasing. At the beginning our prayers, acknowledge God, the Our Father, The Creator of… and go into details of all the different things God has dominion over. Next, express gratitude. Give God thanks for everything you are experiencing in the present moment. Thank God not only for the good stuff, but for the challenges too. Understand that His plan goes beyond ours, and our desires may not be His. Shift your prayer approach, instead of just asking or requesting that God complete a task or miracle, offer praise and thanks as if your requests have already been granted. Feel as if the moment is in the present and you are feeling what you would feel when God brings your request to fruition. Then finally, grasp the idea that our desires are fleeting, while God's plan is pure and good. Pray for His plan to unfold, aligning your purpose with His. Forget about when or if God will answer—focus your thoughts on what you can do right now to stay within His plan. Realize that if your request aligns with God's plan, it will be answered. The verse concludes with a powerful statement—"but I found him not." God doesn't always reveal Himself the way we expect. Finding God requires active seeking and developing your own understanding of God.

Step 2, We Seek God with our Senses

Children, let's dig into the wisdom embedded in the second verse. Here, we find ourselves making conscious decision to rise, and to seek the presence of God to find clues of his existence. The bible say we will navigate the city streets and broadways in search of the beloved. It mirrors our human journey, where the pursuit of understanding God's ways often raises questions about the intricate workings of the world. We grapple with the paradox of goodness and strive to reconcile the existence of adversity in a world seemingly crafted by a benevolent Creator. Yet again, this verse ends similar to the previous “but I found him not.”.

Verse 2: "I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom I loveth: I sought him but I found him not." – Song of Solomon 1:2

In this ongoing quest for meaning, we turn to our senses to explore the complexities under the sun, all crafted by God. Sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing become our guides as we navigate our understanding of this world. It's a natural inclination to judge and make sense of the circumstances we encounter. Yet, we are bound by our limited perspective, struggling to grasp the intricate tapestry of God's design.

As we venture forward, our senses become invaluable tools. We employ sight to perceive the beauty and complexity of creation, touch to connect with the tangible world, taste to savor the goodness that exists, smell to breathe in the essence of life, and hearing to listen to the symphony of existence. The senses combined are an approach to understanding, as we consider the myriad of elements under the sun, searching for signs and answers. Our senses are not always true and accurate however. What we see isn’t always what we see, right? To what extent? I will give you an example.  Imagine a 2D drawing of a person.  This two-dimensional drawing of the person appears to be put jewels in a locked safe. Now we observe the drawing from our 3D world. We can see the person, the safe, and the jewels inside the safe. We can reach in and delete or remove the jewels from within the locked safe without the person in the picture knowing any of the wiser. The 2D person does not understand the 3D world. The 2D drawing can hear the 3D world, but with limited information it can not understand the limits of the world.  Imagine God in a 4D or 5D heaven looking down on us as a simple 2-dimensional drawing.  Changing our story as we go. Look around at all that God has placed for us to observe and ponder that support the absolute requirement for us to have a creator.  Remember, just as in verse 2, we, too, embark on a journey of consideration, and reflecting on the vastness of creation, but will not find God there only the signs of his works.

Step 3, We ask the Fool if he knows God

In the third step of our sacred journey according to this passage, we find solace in Verse 3 of Song of Solomon, where the seeker, brimming with an intense desire to understand God, turns to the watchmen “the guardians of the city” for answers as they have much knowledge of the comings and goings of the city. But, unexpectedly, the watchmen respond with harshness, inflicting wounds and blaspheming the truths.

Verse 3: "The watchmen that go about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me." – Song of Solomon 1:3

This encounter signifies the early stages of seeking divine wisdom. In our own lives, we sometimes turn to those around us for answers. However, the response we receive from fools may not always be truth. People around us that we uphold with respect and as knowledgeable, represented by the watchmen in this verse, might challenge our beliefs, leaving us wounded and blinded to the truth.  They will ask thought provoking questions that our simple minds can not answer.  They will instill doubt in your path to understanding.

The watchmen did not hold all the answers. We, too, must understand that our spiritual journey is deeply personal. Recognizing our need for God involves acknowledging that seeking wisdom from others might not always provide the solace we seek. The wounds inflicted by the watchmen represent the challenges and doubts that may arise in our quest for understanding. We must recognize these people in our lives and stay toward the light.

Just as the seeker's veil is taken away, revealing deeper truths, our own preconceptions may be stripped away as we grapple with the complexities of our faith. This unveiling is a crucial step in recognizing our need for God. There are things we just can not comprehend or understand and were not meant too. The encounter with the watchmen teaches us to be cautious in our pursuit of divine wisdom and it requires resilience, an open heart, and a willingness to face the unknown.

As you embark on this journey, my child, remember that recognizing your need for God is an ongoing process. The wounds inflicted by these watchmen, people you respect and trust, although painful, are a testament to the challenges necessary in seeking and achieving spiritual understanding. Trust that, as you avoid the watchers and pursue the journey of your own understanding, these challenges will lead you to deeper truths and a more profound connection with the divine.

Step 4 - We Find God

My child, let's discover the profound truth woven into the core of the next verse, Song of Solomon 3:4.  Here, the verse marks a pivotal moment—an actual manifestation of God in response to our earnest seeking. It echoes a fundamental truth: God shows Himself to those who genuinely seek Him.

Verse 4: "It was but a little that I passed from them (the watchmen), but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go," – Song of Solomon 3:4a (KJV)

We Find God: A Divine Revelation:

Once you've taken the sincere step to seek God, He, in His divine grace, unveils Himself to you. It's a moment of profound revelation, a testament to your earnest efforts to draw closer to the divine. This unveiling is not a passive act; it's an active response to your genuine seeking. We must not merely find God but holds onto Him with a tender grip, unwilling to let go. There's a sense of intimacy, a moment where we begin to cling to Him with a heart full of renewed love and longing.

"I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go."   The discovery of God is not a fleeting encounter; it's a moment of profound connection. The act of holding onto God signifies a commitment, a choice to remain in His presence despite any of life's challenges.

God is with us, waiting to be discovered in the midst of our journey. Consider the stories of Daniel in the lion's den, the three friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the fiery furnace in Daniel chapter 3, and Jonah in the belly of the whale. God didn't spare them from facing danger; instead, He set them in the midst of the worse possible scenario and then orchestrated miraculous deliverance that could only be attributed to His power. In moments of peril, when it seemed impossible for human intervention, God manifested His presence. God's protection is not a shielding us from challenges but a promise of His presence in the midst of adversity.

Remember, dear one, God is not distant or elusive. In the brief moments when you feel separated, reach out with a heart full of love, and you will find Him, ready to be embraced in the chamber of your soul's deepest affections. Your sincere seeking will lead to a divine revelation, your eyes will be opened, and you will start to see things more clearly. Once you find Him, you can begin an intimate communion with the Father who cherishes and protects his children who run after Him with an upright heart. When you find God, and you feel God within you, you will not want to let that feeling go.  Remember that feeling, and after, when temptation begins to creep back in and the things of the past try to sting you once again, stand firm in your beliefs. Claim the new version of yourself.  Let God to create change in your life and accept it as his will.  Accept and understand all He has to show you, and as the Bible says here, “I held him, and would not let him go,”.

STEP 5 - Understanding God as a Mother Understands her Child

The verse discusses bringing the beloved into the mother's house, a metaphor that resonates with the nurturing embrace of a mother's affection.

"until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me." – Song of Solomon 3:4b (KJV)

Upon finding God, our connection unfolds like the petals of a blossoming flower. It's not merely a one-time revelation but an ongoing journey of understanding, akin to the profound bond shared between a mother and her child. We are urged to bring God into the innermost chambers of our hearts, echoing the sanctity of a mother's abode.

The phrase "Until I had brought him into my mother's house" symbolizes an enduring process—a continual exploration and discovery of a mother's love. As our Father’s children, we are encouraged to delve into every aspect of our relationship with God, seeking to know Him intimately and uncovering the richness of His character.

"Into the chamber of her that conceived me" carries the sacredness of the space where life begins. It reflects the origin of our spiritual journey with God. Much like the reverence we hold for the space of birth, this phrase symbolizes the initiation of our divine connection—a space where life is conceived, nurtured, and protected. This is where life in itself begins to grow, learn, adapt, and evolve.

Discovering God is not the end but the beginning of a dynamic journey. Once you begin to see, there is much to learning and understand. The emphasis is on understanding the nuances of this divine relationship, mirroring a child's exploration of a mother's love. Seek to know God in every dimension—His joys, sorrows, righteous judgments, and the boundlessness of His mercy and grace.

Conclusion

My children, in this journey to discover what our purpose is, we will end up finding that our purpose is only to serve and worship God. When we seek God, he may not always show himself, and he may not always answer.  But He is listening.  God not answering a prayer, may be an answer to prayer.  Do you really know what is best for you?  If you got everything you wanted would you be happy, or would you eventually want more and more.  Where is the end of want? When we come to a cross-road or difficult times, it tends to open our eyes to begin to see these truths.  Then things start to get “good” again and we are blinded and forget. God laid out a small road map here in Song of Solomon showing us how to come to know him.

Step One, is to pray.  Pray without ceasing.  Pray and do not look for answers.  Do not expect results.  Do not curse God if He does not respond directly to all of your demands. Step 2 – Can you sense the presence of God?  What makes us human?  Our senses is the only thing that separates our energy or spirit and allows us to be able to interact with the world we live in.  Our senses are what trip us up along the way.  But its all we got, and if you can’t trust what you see, feel, taste, hear, and even smell than what can you trust other than God. Use your senses to look at all the clues that God has left all over his creation.  All these different signs pointing back to Him, and pointing back to the infallibility of the Bible. Step 3 – We tend to look to our peers for support. “Hey, I hear this thing…”, or “I had a crazy idea, what would you say if…”.  The response is usually, “Dude, you are crazy!” Any time anyone comes up with anything that is out of the norm it is wrong.  Any time anyone does something better than other people, people tend to get envious toward the other persons good fortune. Any time someone has a good idea, someone else can do it better, or why would you think that is a good idea.  Dreams are shot down, good things are laid to rest, and no one progresses.  It you stay around these type of people they to will pull you down with them.  Be weary of the watchmen.  Do not let them question or questioning.  Do not let them harm or detain you.  Keep your focus on God and He will protect your path.  In the fourth step, We finally find God.  After not seeing him and not seeing him and almost getting hurt or mislead we endured. Once we have proven ourself worthy of God, He will reveal himself to us.  And not in a mighty cloud of smoke and a loud voice, but in a small and gentle voice that you know can only be God.  And in Step 5 we find ourselves seeking to know our Father in heaven as a Mother knows her own child.  We are draw into the room of conception. A sacred space which symbolizes the beginning of your rebirth. This is the beginning of your understanding of God which is the beginning of understanding all things.

I am very passionate about this article as this is the path God has lead me down.  God showed me this passage today, and did not let me rest until this entire article was published and posted. I believe My Father’s Message today was one of the most important for anyone that has not found true understanding or at the beginning of there journey to discover who God is to them.  It is not the amount of scripture you read per day, but how you implement it in your own life that matters. Always remember, Pray with Gratitude, Seek God First in All Things, Ignore the Mouths of Fools, Know and Feel God's Presence, Fervently Seek Continued Understanding.  It is a personal growth cycle we must endure for all our days to know God.

Amen.
